Happy Easter 2019

We at Fruits of the Vineyard wish you a blessed Easter!

Several years ago Easter Sunday was approaching. School was about to be let out for spring break. The day before the last day of school our boys had returned home and had left their backpacks full of their school books in the back of our truck. They were already anticipating the celebration of their break. No school work!

To our dismay we woke up Friday morning to find that the door to the truck had been left unlocked and someone had come in the night and stolen the backpacks! We were faced with having to replace all their textbooks and particularly their Bibles. I spent all morning trying to see where I could purchase their textbooks and found that it was going to cost me nearly five hundred dollars to do so. Their Bibles were another thing having sentimental value. All in all I couldn't believe someone would steal the backpacks and of all things the boys' Bibles. I turned to the Lord in consternation. And this was His answer.

That very afternoon the police showed up at the school with the recovered backpacks. The school was amazed. We were amazed. Apparently they were recovered from a stolen car that had been wrecked and abandoned on the side of the road. Surely fear had been put in the hearts of these thieves! After examining their backpacks thoroughly, the boys found that the only things missing were their Bibles! I had to console myself about the loss in that they who took them may have needed them more indeed.

It was a blessed Easter that year. Wishing you a blessed Easter!

(This has been revised since first published due to inaccuracy of my recalling of events as noted by my husband who also was witness. I must apologize to our Lord if I took away in any way from the truly miraculous course of His events in my initial retelling.)

New Page Coming Soon

Please be on the look out for a new page addition to our website entitled God Moments coming soon! Anyone in a relationship with our Lord has undoubtedly experienced God Moments. In her latest relocation from California to Arizona which took nearly eighteen difficult months to complete, the author and her family faced incredible obstacles. Only with God at their side did they come out of it victorious against the Enemy. Our Lord's divine acts of intercession moved the author to tears and took her to her knees in humble gratitude time and time again compelling the author to resolve to write down her testimonies that our God is a Living God who is active in each of our lives and continues to perform miracles to this very day! Our Lord invites us to hold tightly onto His hand in our daily walk with Him. One has only to squeeze His hand to feel Him squeeze back. In righteousness and perfect love. He makes Himself unmistakably known to us in what the author calls God Moments. Hallelujah!

Easter 2018

He is Risen! Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ died a terrible death for our sins and three days later rose from the dead so that we could be cleansed by His blood and have eternal life. Our Lord, who loves us so, did this for us. How can we ever express our joy... our gratitude...our love in return? Won't you join me by believing in Him, following Him, and obeying Him all the days of our lives?

Christmas 2018

We at FruitsoftheVineyard.com would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Happy New Year 2019

In the wee hours of New Year's Day it snowed here where I live. Now that happening is a miracle where I am located. But it also brought back memories of a time when it snowed on New Year's Day in another place just as unfamiliar with snow as here and at another time. I woke up there to snow and thought I was dreaming. It was 2015 and it was the year Ode to My Lord was published. I think I couldn't have started off this year any better. Wouldn't you agree? May all of you have a blessed 2019!

Fruit for Thought

of the day

Until we realize how much of a wretch we are, so fallen in nature and inclined to sin, we really cannot appreciate the extent of our Lord's Grace. I think true repentance can only be achieved when we come to acknowledge this about ourselves.

Thoughts Gathered Here

Day One

Until we realize how much of a wretch we are, so fallen in nature and inclined to sin, we really cannot appreciate the extent of our Lord's Grace. I think true repentance can only be achieved when we come to acknowledge this about ourselves.

I was in the closet busily gathering up clothes, shoes, and accessories to donate in charity. Yes, it was for charity. But I was doing this in charity for our Lord. Or so I thought. Afterwards, I realized that I had sorted through my things and had selected mostly the expensive designer brand items to give away. It was then that the Lord convicted me. I found myself totally ashamed.

In dismay I went to tell my husband. He looked at me not surprised which made me feel worse. "But I already knew that your intentions were probably not all pure. If I were to guess I suppose your effort was about 90% in charity." I was devastated. "But how could you love me knowing that!" I cried. "Because I know you... who you are.. and that 90% is pretty wonderful." I looked at him chagrined and then my mind went back to the endeavor that had started out with such good intentions.

He seemed to read my thoughts. "But the Lord knows you far better than me. He knows if it was 10% or 20% percent that was not done purely for Him. He knows the exact amounts and the exact details of all of our intentions." He paused and I could see him getting choked up. "I think the moving thing is that by His standard we all fail so many times, but He still loves us so much. It really is the greatest love story."

I found tears start to stream down my face at his words as I contemplated that our Lord, perfect in righteousness and goodness, could love a wretch like me. I was overcome with such gratitude. I found myself wanting to feel worthy of such a gift.

I walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind me.. to ask Him for forgiveness for my transgression... to ask Him to help me to become more like Him. Holy, holy is He who is our blessed Lord and Savior!
